The Investigation Division investigates hundreds of cases each month.  A Captain who answers to the Chief of Police and the Assistant Chief of Police heads up this division with one Lieutenants, three Sergeants, and two clerical staff working under him.  They are responsible for investigating all crimes that are reported to the department which includes crimes against other persons, crimes against property, vehicle thefts, and financial crimes such as check fraud, credit card fraud, forgery, counterfeiting, scam and swindles, as well as computer crimes.  The documentation, collection, and preservation of physical evidence from crime scenes is performed by a member of this unit.    Investigation is located at 602 2nd AVE N.E. and can be reached at 256-775-7170.
